
The activities carried out are developing educational concepts and methodologies for women, holding trainings, organizing and developing monitoring and evaluation tools from a gender and community perspective.
Since its founding, KAPAL Perempuan has provided training for women leaders at the local level in various regions in Indonesia, poor urban women, rural and remote island women, conflict and disaster areas as well as female workers in the industrial sector, migrant and domestic domestic workers. The training is tailored to women’s needs and integrates various issues, for example environmental issues, conflict prevention and peace building (pluralism), sexuality, poverty and reproductive health. To date, around 1,500 people have been involved in and participated in education organized by KAPAL Perempuan and there are around 250 facilitators from KAPAL Perempuan’s education who facilitate educational activities in their respective areas.
