There are four main issues in the advocacy of KAPAL Perempuan: namely, women’s rights, education, pluralism policy, and public services. The themes of this advocacy are interconnected, with a primary focus on women’s rights.

Advocacy for women’s rights focuses on reproductive health rights, the right to reproductive health and sexuality education, freedom from all forms of violence, and the right to participate and lead.

Advocacy for women’s education and literacy emphasizes the importance of education for all, including free and quality basic education, as well as women’s literacy education that integrates critical thinking and life skills. This advocacy is conducted in collaboration with the E-Net for Justice network and aims to promote women’s literacy through the We Watch network.

Advocacy for pluralist policies through criticism of laws and regulations that discriminate against women, minorities, and marginalized groups. The activities carried out included the implementation of the Pluralism Assessment Card in Bali, NTB, Central Kalimantan, and Gorontalo, as well as involvement in actions against violence carried out in the name of certain religions, ethnicities, and ideologies.

Advocacy through Community-Based Gender Audits and Gender Watch conducted in NTB, NTT, West Sulawesi, South Sulawesi, East Java, East Jakarta, South Jakarta, and nationally. This advocacy is implemented by building women’s leadership through strengthening beneficiary groups involved in poverty alleviation programs, particularly for women. Through this activity, beneficiary groups can assess poverty alleviation programs, which will have a subsequent impact.
